About YITH WooCommerce Advanced Reviews Premium 1.32.0

YITH WooCommerce Advanced Reviews Premium upgrades WooCommerce's built-in product reviews. Reviews carry real weight with shoppers, as the plugin's own description points out about sites like Amazon, and this plugin gives your reviews more structure and more to look at than the default review tab.

It shows statistics about your ratings as bar graphs, and you can customise how the bars look. Customers can add a title to a review and attach files, such as photos, and you can limit how many attachments one review may have. Together that makes reviews richer and easier to scan than a plain list of comments.

It needs WooCommerce and belongs to the YITH family of plugins. The file on record is from September 2017, and WooCommerce's review system has changed since, so test it on a staging copy with your current WooCommerce version before relying on it.

Key features

Rating statistics: Show how reviews are spread across the star ratings, as bar graphs.
Customisable bars: Change how the rating bars look to match your shop.
File attachments: Let customers attach files, such as photos, to their review.
Attachment limit: Cap the number of files that can be added to a single review.
Review titles: Let customers give their review a short title, which makes long review lists easier to scan.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

WooCommerce shops that want more convincing, easier-to-read product reviews
Stores that want customers to share photos of what they bought
Shops that already use other YITH plugins and want a consistent set

Common problems and fixes

The new review layout doesn't show on product pages

Why it happens: Your theme overrides WooCommerce's review template, or reviews are switched off on the product.
How to fix it: Test with a default theme such as Storefront, confirm reviews are enabled for the product, and check the theme for custom review templates.

Customers can't attach files

Why it happens: Attachments are switched off, or the server's upload limits are too low.
How to fix it: Enable attachments in the plugin's settings and check your PHP upload size limit with your host.

“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading

Why it happens: The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it: Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.

“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”

Why it happens: The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it: Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.

“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”

Why it happens: Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it: Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.

Licence or “updates unavailable” notices

Why it happens: The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it: Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.
