About YITH WooCommerce Badge Management Premium 3.0.0

YITH WooCommerce Badge Management Premium is a WooCommerce extension for putting badges on product images. A badge is a small label such as Sale, New or a custom message that sits on top of the product photo in the shop and on the product page. The plugin gives you one place to create and manage them.

It fits shops that want to point out offers, new arrivals or special items without editing theme templates. Badges are set up in the WordPress admin, so the look can change without code. The plugin only adds labels. Your products, prices and checkout stay exactly as WooCommerce handles them.

The file on record is version 3.0.0 and dates from July 2017. That is old for a WooCommerce add-on, so test it with your current WordPress, PHP and WooCommerce versions on a staging site first. The listing doesn't state the full badge types or display options; check the documentation in the package.

Requirements

  • WooCommerce

Key features

Product badges
Create badges that appear over product images in shop and product pages.
Central badge management
Create, edit and reuse badges from one admin screen instead of editing templates.
Built for WooCommerce
Works on WooCommerce products and listings; it is part of the YITH WooCommerce plugin family.
Highlight offers and new items
Use badges to flag sale items, new products or any custom message you choose.
No theme editing
Badge content and placement are set in settings, not by changing theme files.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

  • WooCommerce shops that want to flag sale and new products on images
  • Store owners who prefer admin settings to editing theme code

Look elsewhere if

  • Sites without WooCommerce, since the plugin labels WooCommerce products
  • Shops that need a current, actively maintained release without testing, because the file on record dates from 2017

How to install YITH WooCommerce Badge Management Premium 3.0.0

  1. 1

    Download the file

Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.

  2. 2

    Upload it to WordPress

In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.

  3. 3

    Install and activate

Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.

Notes for this product

  • The listing doesn't say whether a free YITH plugin must be active alongside this file. Check the documentation in the package before activating.

Setup: using YITH WooCommerce Badge Management Premium 3.0.0

  1. Test on a staging copy. The file is from 2017, so install it on a copy of your shop and check it against your current WooCommerce.
  2. Open the badge settings. After activating, find the YITH menu in the WordPress admin and open Badge Management.
  3. Create a badge. Create a first badge with your text or image and choose where it sits on the product image.
  4. Assign it to products. Apply the badge to the products you want to highlight, then save.
  5. Check the shop and product pages. Look at the shop grid, a product page and a phone screen to make sure badges don't hide the image.

Common problems and fixes

The badge doesn't appear on the product image
Why it happens
The theme overrides WooCommerce image templates, or the badge isn't assigned to that product.
How to fix it
Check the assignment, then test with a default WooCommerce-compatible theme to see whether your theme blocks it.
Two badges overlap, for example this one and the theme's own Sale label
Why it happens
WooCommerce and many themes print their own sale flash in the same spot.
How to fix it
Turn off the theme's sale label in its settings, or move the new badge to another corner.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
Why it happens
The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it
Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Why it happens
The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it
Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Why it happens
Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it
Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
Why it happens
The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it
Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need WooCommerce?

Yes. It labels WooCommerce products, so it does nothing on a site without WooCommerce.

Will it work with the current WooCommerce?

The file on record is from July 2017. Test it on a staging site with your current WordPress, PHP and WooCommerce before using it live.

Does it change prices or the checkout?

No. It adds visual labels to product images only.

Which badge types and positions are included?

The listing doesn't state them. Check the documentation in the package for the full list.
