About Undo Redo for WPBakery Page Builder 1.2.5

Undo Redo for WPBakery Page Builder is an add-on for WPBakery Page Builder, formerly Visual Composer. It adds the standard undo and redo buttons to the editor, so you can step back through recent changes the way you would in the classic WordPress text editor.

It works in the frontend editing mode as well. It keeps a permanent change history, which survives saving the post or closing the browser until you click the clear button. A history limit setting, found on the Writing Settings page, keeps that history from growing too large. The file on record is version 1.2.5 from May 2018.

Requirements

  • WPBakery Page Builder

Key features

Undo and redo buttons
Added to the WPBakery editor so recent changes can be reversed.
Frontend mode support
Undo and redo also work in the frontend edit mode.
Permanent change history
Changes are kept after saving or closing the browser until you clear them.
History limit setting
A field on the Writing Settings page caps the history size to avoid memory problems.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

  • Editors who build pages in WPBakery and want an undo option
  • Teams where several people edit pages and sometimes make mistakes

Look elsewhere if

  • Sites that don't use WPBakery Page Builder
  • Anyone using a different page builder such as Elementor

Common problems and fixes

The editor becomes slow or runs out of memory on long pages
Why it happens
The permanent history grows with every edit.
How to fix it
Lower the history limit on the Writing Settings page, or clear the history with the clear button.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
Why it happens
The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it
Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Why it happens
The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it
Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Why it happens
Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it
Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
Why it happens
The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it
Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.
