About SEOPress PRO 7.3.1

SEOPress PRO is the paid extension of SEOPress, a WordPress SEO plugin by Benjamin Denis. The free plugin handles the essentials: titles and meta descriptions, XML sitemaps, social tags, breadcrumbs and basic structured data. PRO adds the features that larger or more specialised sites need.

Those include WooCommerce SEO for product pages, local business markup for companies with a physical location, richer structured data types, a redirections manager with 404 monitoring, video and Google News sitemaps, Google Analytics integration, and tools for tasks like finding broken links. A white-label option lets agencies hide the plugin's branding.

PRO needs the free SEOPress plugin installed and active, and the two should be on versions from the same period. It is a different plugin from Yoast SEO and Rank Math, so run only one SEO plugin on a site, and use SEOPress's importer if you're switching.

Requirements

  • The free SEOPress plugin, installed and active

Key features

WooCommerce SEO
SEO settings for products and shop pages, including product structured data.
Local business markup
Business details, opening hours and locations as structured data, for local companies.
More structured data types
Add schema for articles, products, FAQs, events and other content types.
Redirections and 404 monitoring
Set up redirects and see which broken URLs visitors are hitting.
Video and News sitemaps
Extra sitemaps for sites that publish video or news content.
Analytics integration
Connect Google Analytics and see statistics in your dashboard.
Broken link checker
Find links on your site that no longer work.
White label
Remove the plugin's branding, useful for agencies building sites for clients.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

  • WooCommerce stores that want product SEO and structured data
  • Local businesses that need location markup
  • Agencies that want white-label SEO for clients' sites

Look elsewhere if

  • Sites happy with their current SEO plugin, since two SEO plugins create duplicate tags
  • Sites that only need titles, meta descriptions and a sitemap, which the free plugin covers

How to install SEOPress PRO 7.3.1

  1. 1

    Download the file

Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.

  2. 2

    Upload it to WordPress

In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.

  3. 3

    Install and activate

Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.

Notes for this product

  • Install and activate the free SEOPress plugin first. PRO extends it and doesn't run on its own.
  • Deactivate any other SEO plugin before running SEOPress, to avoid duplicate meta tags and schema.

Setup: using SEOPress PRO 7.3.1

  1. Run the setup wizard. Open SEOPress in the dashboard menu and work through the setup, choosing your site type and basic settings.
  2. Import from your old plugin. If you're switching from another SEO plugin, use SEOPress's importer, then check your key pages.
  3. Turn on the PRO features you need. Enable WooCommerce, local business, structured data or redirects as your site requires.
  4. Set title and description templates. Review the defaults for posts, pages and other content types.
  5. Check your sitemap. Open the XML sitemap, confirm it loads, and submit it in Google Search Console.
  6. Test the structured data. Run a key page through Google's Rich Results Test and fix anything it flags.

Common problems and fixes

PRO features are missing
Why it happens
The free SEOPress plugin isn't active, or its version is far from PRO's.
How to fix it
Activate the free plugin and update it, or use Request an update from your account for a PRO file closer to your installed version.
Duplicate titles or schema in the page source
Why it happens
Another SEO plugin, or the theme, is also outputting the same tags.
How to fix it
Deactivate the other SEO plugin, check the theme's built-in SEO options, and view the page source to confirm one title and one set of schema.
The sitemap shows a 404 error
Why it happens
WordPress's rewrite rules haven't refreshed, or another plugin or a leftover file is using the same address.
How to fix it
Go to Settings, Permalinks and click Save Changes, and remove any old sitemap.xml file from your site's root.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
Why it happens
The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it
Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Why it happens
The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it
Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Why it happens
Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it
Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
Why it happens
The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it
Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.
