About All In One SEO Pack Pro WordPress Plugin 4.1.7
All in One SEO Pack Pro, usually shortened to AIOSEO, is a WordPress SEO plugin that covers the usual on-page and technical jobs from one dashboard: titles and meta descriptions, XML sitemaps, social media tags, schema markup, robots.txt, breadcrumbs and a connection to Google Search Console.
The Pro version adds the tools sites often end up buying extra plugins for: local SEO for businesses with locations, a redirect manager with a 404 monitor, video and news sitemaps, WooCommerce product SEO, and an on-page analysis that checks your content against a focus keyphrase.
The version on file belongs to the 4.x series, a rewrite of the older 3.x plugin. If you're moving a site over from 3.x, the plugin migrates your settings, but compare your titles, descriptions and sitemap output afterwards.
Key features
- On-page analysis
- A score and checklist for each page, based on its focus keyphrase, with advice on what to change.
- XML sitemaps
- Generated automatically, with Pro adding video and news sitemaps for sites that publish those.
- Schema markup
- Add structured data to pages and posts so search engines can show richer results.
- Local SEO
- Business details, opening hours and multiple locations, for companies that serve local customers.
- Redirects and 404 monitor
- Set up redirects and find broken URLs that visitors are landing on.
- WooCommerce SEO
- Product-specific SEO settings for online shops built on WooCommerce.
- Social and Search Console
- Set the tags used when pages are shared on social networks, and connect Google Search Console.
- Access control
- Decide which user roles can change SEO settings, useful when several people work on a site.
Is it right for you?
A good fit for
- Site owners who want sitemaps, schema, redirects and on-page checks in a single plugin
- Local businesses that need location details and local search markup
- WooCommerce stores and agencies managing sites for several editors
Look elsewhere if
- Sites already running Yoast or Rank Math with a setup that works, since a second SEO plugin creates duplicate tags
- Sites that only need titles, meta descriptions and a sitemap, which free tools cover
How to install All In One SEO Pack Pro WordPress Plugin 4.1.7

Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
- 2

- 3
Install and activate
Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.
Notes for this product
- Deactivate the free All in One SEO plugin before activating Pro, and don't run another SEO plugin alongside it, or you'll get duplicate title and description tags.
Setup: using All In One SEO Pack Pro WordPress Plugin 4.1.7
- Run the setup wizard. Open All in One SEO in your dashboard menu and complete the wizard, which sets your site type, search appearance and the features you want on.
- Review search appearance. Check the title and description templates for posts, pages and other content types.
- Check your sitemap. Open the sitemap, usually at /sitemap.xml, to confirm it loads, then submit it in Google Search Console.
- Set your social defaults. Add your social profiles and a default share image so shared pages look right.
- Add local business details. If you serve a local area, enter your business name, address and opening hours in the local SEO settings.
- Optimise a page. Open a post, enter a focus keyphrase in the AIOSEO box, and work through the checklist.
Common problems and fixes
Duplicate meta tags in the page source
- Why it happens
- Another SEO plugin, or the theme, is also outputting titles and descriptions.
- How to fix it
- Deactivate the other SEO plugin, check your theme for built-in SEO options, and view the page source to confirm one title and one description.
The sitemap isn't found
- Why it happens
- A physical sitemap.xml file left over from an old plugin, or stale rewrite rules, is taking its place.
- How to fix it
- Delete any old sitemap.xml file in your site's root, then go to Settings, Permalinks and click Save Changes.
Titles or descriptions changed after moving from the older 3.x plugin
- Why it happens
- The 4.x rewrite handles templates and variables differently, so some values migrate imperfectly.
- How to fix it
- Review the search appearance settings and compare your most important pages with how they looked before.
Redirects aren't taking effect
- Why it happens
- The redirects feature isn't switched on, or a page cache is serving the old page.
- How to fix it
- Make sure the redirects feature is active in the plugin, clear your cache and CDN, and test in a private window.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
- Why it happens
- The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
- How to fix it
- Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
- Why it happens
- The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
- How to fix it
- Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
- Why it happens
- Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
- How to fix it
- Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
- Why it happens
- The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
- How to fix it
- Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.

Frequently asked questions
How is Pro different from the free All in One SEO?
Pro adds local SEO, a redirect manager and 404 monitor, video and news sitemaps, WooCommerce SEO and further tools. The free plugin covers titles, descriptions, sitemaps and basic schema.
Can I import my settings from Yoast or Rank Math?
The plugin has an importer for other popular SEO plugins. Run it before you deactivate the old one, then check your key pages.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes. The Pro version includes SEO settings for WooCommerce products.
Can I run it together with Yoast?
No. Two SEO plugins on one site output duplicate tags. Pick one and deactivate the other.
Will it raise my rankings by itself?
No. It helps you set pages up and avoid technical mistakes, while content quality and links still decide where you rank.
