About MyThemeShop SociallyViral WordPress Theme 2.4.9

SociallyViral is a WordPress theme from MyThemeShop. In the store it is filed under multi-purpose and blog news magazine categories, and searches for it are by name, so most buyers already know what they want. It is designed for content sites that depend on sharing and traffic from social networks.

The listing gives no feature list, so check the theme's documentation for its options, widgets and layouts. MyThemeShop themes usually come with their own options panel and recommended plugins; confirm in the package which ones this theme asks for.

The file is small, about 5 megabytes, and the file on record dates from November 2021. The title and the version on file differ, so check the version in the theme's style.css, and test on a staging site.

Requirements

Key features

Viral and magazine style: Aimed at content sites that rely on sharing.
Blog and news categories: Filed under blog news magazine, so it suits posts and articles.
Multi-purpose label: Also filed as multi-purpose, so it is not limited to one niche.
Small package: About 5 megabytes, so it uploads easily on most hosts.
MyThemeShop theme: From a developer that ships its own documentation with each theme.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

Bloggers and publishers building a viral-style content site
Small magazines that want a ready layout without a page builder
Developers who want a lightweight blog theme

Look elsewhere if

Online shops, since the listing doesn't mention WooCommerce support
Corporate sites that need service pages and demo import

How to install MyThemeShop SociallyViral WordPress Theme 2.4.9

1
Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
2
Find the installable theme zip
Theme packages often bundle the theme, a child theme, plugins and docs. The installable theme is the zip that has style.css at its top level.
3
Upload it to WordPress
Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme, choose the theme zip, then Install Now and Activate.
4
Install the recommended plugins
Most premium themes show a notice listing their required plugins. Install those before importing any demo content.

Notes for this product

Getting started: using MyThemeShop SociallyViral WordPress Theme 2.4.9

Install on a staging site. Test with your current WordPress and PHP before going live.
Activate and open the theme options. Look in the theme's own options panel or the Customizer, as its documentation describes.
Set your logo, colours and layout. Choose the home page layout, header style and sidebar position.
Create categories and menus. Set up categories and a main menu so posts appear in the right sections.
Publish test posts. Add a few posts with featured images and check how cards and social buttons display.

Common problems and fixes

Thumbnails look cropped or blurry

Why it happens: The theme uses its own image sizes, and existing uploads were made at other sizes.
How to fix it: Regenerate thumbnails with a plugin such as Regenerate Thumbnails after activating the theme.

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

Why it happens: The full download package was uploaded instead of the theme zip inside it.
How to fix it: Unzip the package and upload the zip that contains style.css at its top level.

“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading

Why it happens: The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it: Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/themes with your host's file manager or SFTP.

Demo import stops part-way or times out

Why it happens: The server hits its execution-time or memory limit during the import.
How to fix it: Raise max_execution_time and memory_limit with your host, then re-run the importer; importing content, widgets and settings separately also helps.

Pages look broken right after activating

Why it happens: The theme's required plugins (page builder, theme core plugin) aren't installed yet.
How to fix it: Install and activate everything in the theme's required-plugins notice, then reload.
