About Kadence Theme 1.1.50
Kadence is a fast, general-purpose WordPress theme from Kadence WP. Most of its design is set in the Customizer: a drag-and-drop header and footer builder, a global colour palette, typography and layout options for posts, pages and archives. It works with the block editor and with page builders such as Elementor, and it has its own styling for WooCommerce shops.
Ready-made site designs come from the separate Kadence Starter Templates plugin, and many extra header elements and hooks come from the Kadence Pro add-on, not the theme alone. The file on record is version 1.1.50, released in April 2022, so test it with your current WordPress and plugins on a staging site first.

How to install Kadence Theme 1.1.50

Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.

Find the installable theme zip
Theme packages often bundle the theme, a child theme, plugins and docs. The installable theme is the zip that has style.css at its top level.

Upload it to WordPress
Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme, choose the theme zip, then Install Now and Activate.

- Starter site designs are imported with the separate Kadence Starter Templates plugin. Kadence Blocks is the companion block plugin, and extra header elements and hooks need the Kadence Pro add-on.
Getting started: using Kadence Theme 1.1.50
- Activate the theme. Upload and activate Kadence in Appearance, Themes.
- Optionally import a starter site. Install the Kadence Starter Templates plugin and import a design close to what you need.
- Set colours and fonts. In Appearance, Customize, set the global palette and typography first so every page follows them.
- Build the header and footer. Use the header and footer builder in the Customizer, including the mobile header.
- Set layouts and check speed. Choose page and post layouts, then test key pages on a phone and with a speed test.

- Starter designs come from a separate plugin, not the theme file.

- Install and activate Kadence Starter Templates, then open it from the Kadence screen.

- Why it happens
- The full download package was uploaded instead of the theme zip inside it.
- How to fix it
- Unzip the package and upload the zip that contains style.css at its top level.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
- Why it happens
- The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
- How to fix it
- Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/themes with your host's file manager or SFTP.
Demo import stops part-way or times out
- Why it happens
- The server hits its execution-time or memory limit during the import.
- How to fix it
- Raise max_execution_time and memory_limit with your host, then re-run the importer; importing content, widgets and settings separately also helps.
Pages look broken right after activating
- Why it happens
- The theme's required plugins (page builder, theme core plugin) aren't installed yet.
- How to fix it
- Install and activate everything in the theme's required-plugins notice, then reload.
