About Divi WordPress Theme 4.14.7

Divi is a multi-purpose WordPress theme built around its own visual page builder. You edit pages on the front end, see changes instantly, and arrange content with drag and drop instead of coding. People search for it by name when they want a builder-first theme for any kind of site.

The description mentions about 20 ready-made layouts, 46 content elements, many header and footer options, a library for saving your own designs, 32 translations and right-to-left support. These come from the legacy description, so check the package to confirm what is included.

The file on record is version 4.14.7, released in January 2022. Test it with your current WordPress and PHP versions on a staging site before using it on a live domain.

Key features

Front-end visual builder: Edit pages live, with changes shown instantly and no page refresh.
Drag and drop editing: Arrange rows and modules without writing code.
Pre-made layouts: Described as including about 20 layouts you can apply to a page and then fill with your own content.
46 content elements: A set of modules you combine to build different page types.
Design library: Save your own designs and reuse them on new pages.
Translations and RTL: Described as translated into 32 languages with right-to-left support.

How to install Divi WordPress Theme 4.14.7

1
Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
2
Find the installable theme zip
Theme packages often bundle the theme, a child theme, plugins and docs. The installable theme is the zip that has style.css at its top level.
3
Upload it to WordPress
Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme, choose the theme zip, then Install Now and Activate.
4
Install the recommended plugins
Most premium themes show a notice listing their required plugins. Install those before importing any demo content.

Notes for this product

Divi stores page layouts in its own builder format. If you later switch themes, those pages can show leftover shortcode text, so choose the theme carefully on a new site.

Getting started: using Divi WordPress Theme 4.14.7

Install on a staging site. Activate the theme on a test copy first, since the file dates from 2022.
Open the builder on a new page. Create a page and launch the visual builder from the page editor.
Start from a pre-made layout. Load one of the included layouts and replace the text and images.
Design the header and footer. Set your logo, menu and footer layout using the theme's options.
Save reusable designs. Save sections you will reuse to the Divi library.

Common problems and fixes

The builder will not load, or stays on a loading screen

Why it happens: A conflicting plugin, an exhausted PHP memory limit or a cache plugin serving old scripts.
How to fix it: Clear caches, raise the PHP memory limit and deactivate plugins one by one to find the conflict.

Changes do not appear on the live page

Why it happens: Static CSS or page caching is serving an older version.
How to fix it: Clear the cache and the theme's generated CSS files, then reload.

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

Why it happens: The full download package was uploaded instead of the theme zip inside it.
How to fix it: Unzip the package and upload the zip that contains style.css at its top level.

“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading

Why it happens: The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it: Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/themes with your host's file manager or SFTP.

Demo import stops part-way or times out

Why it happens: The server hits its execution-time or memory limit during the import.
How to fix it: Raise max_execution_time and memory_limit with your host, then re-run the importer; importing content, widgets and settings separately also helps.

Pages look broken right after activating

Why it happens: The theme's required plugins (page builder, theme core plugin) aren't installed yet.
How to fix it: Install and activate everything in the theme's required-plugins notice, then reload.
