About Paid Memberships Pro – Member Directory Add On 0.7
This is an add-on for Paid Memberships Pro that lists your members on a page of your site. It is filed under membership and directory categories. Visitors, or members only if you restrict the page, can browse who belongs to your community.
The add-on does nothing alone. It needs Paid Memberships Pro installed and active, and the directory is placed on a page with a shortcode. The file on record is version 0.7, released in November 2018, so test it with your current PMPro and WordPress on staging first. The listing does not state the available options; check the documentation in the package.
Requirements
- Paid Memberships Pro
Key features
- Member directory page
- Lists members from your Paid Memberships Pro site on a normal WordPress page.
- Shortcode placement
- The directory is added to a page by shortcode, so you control where it appears.
- Works with membership levels
- Because it builds on PMPro, the list is based on your existing members and levels.
- Directory category
- Filed under membership and directory, so the add-on is about showing people, not billing.
Is it right for you?
A good fit for
- Membership communities where members want to find each other
- Sites that already run Paid Memberships Pro
Look elsewhere if
- Sites without Paid Memberships Pro, since the add-on depends on it
- Sites where member privacy rules forbid showing members to other people
How to install Paid Memberships Pro – Member Directory Add On 0.7
- 1
Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
- 2

- 3
Install and activate
Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.
Notes for this product
- Install and activate Paid Memberships Pro first. This add-on has no use without it.
Setup: using Paid Memberships Pro – Member Directory Add On 0.7
- Activate Paid Memberships Pro. Make sure PMPro and your membership levels are set up and working.
- Activate the add-on. Activate Member Directory in the plugins list.
- Create a directory page. Add a new page and place the directory shortcode named in the package documentation.
- Choose who can see it. Decide if the page is public or limited to members, and check the result as a test member.
Common problems and fixes
The directory page is empty
- Why it happens
- No active members match the shortcode settings, or the shortcode is limited to certain levels.
- How to fix it
- Check that members exist on the levels you chose and that the shortcode options are valid.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
- Why it happens
- The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
- How to fix it
- Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
- Why it happens
- The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
- How to fix it
- Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
- Why it happens
- Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
- How to fix it
- Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
- Why it happens
- The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
- How to fix it
- Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.
