About MAGNET – Creative Business WordPress Theme 1.10

MAGNET is a WordPress theme for creative businesses and personal sites. According to the listing it comes with four homepages that differ in layout and behaviour, so you pick the one closest to your brand rather than starting from one design.

Its distinctive features are page transitions loaded with AJAX, which you can turn on or off, a colour tool that also switches corners between rounded and sharp, and bonus parallax pages for presentations or microsites. The title says 1.10, but the file on record is version 1.1, and it was released in September 2017. Test it on a staging site with your current WordPress and PHP.

Requirements

WordPress
WooCommerce only if you want the optional shop module

Key features

Four homepages: Four home layouts with different looks and functionality.
Gradient and shape tool: Built-in controls for custom colours and rounded or sharp corners.
AJAX page animations: Four animated transitions between pages, switchable off for a classic site, with per-page animation choice.
Parallax pages: Bonus parallax pages for presentations, microsites or a new homepage.
Sliders and portfolio: Add sliders and slides while editing pages, posts or portfolio items, plus images or videos per portfolio item.
Optional shop module: An optional online shop module through WooCommerce integration.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

A creative studio, freelancer or small agency that wants an animated portfolio site.
A site owner who wants a one-off parallax microsite alongside a normal website.

Look elsewhere if

Sites that need current WooCommerce features; the integration targets an old WooCommerce generation.

How to install MAGNET – Creative Business WordPress Theme 1.10

1
Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
2
Find the installable theme zip
Theme packages often bundle the theme, a child theme, plugins and docs. The installable theme is the zip that has style.css at its top level.
3
Upload it to WordPress
Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme, choose the theme zip, then Install Now and Activate.
4
Install the recommended plugins
Most premium themes show a notice listing their required plugins. Install those before importing any demo content.

Notes for this product

The listing mentions an optional WooCommerce integration written for WooCommerce 2. Test the shop pages carefully with current WooCommerce before selling anything.

Getting started: using MAGNET – Creative Business WordPress Theme 1.10

Install on a staging site. The file dates from 2017, so check it works with your WordPress and PHP versions first.
Activate and choose a homepage. Pick one of the four home layouts as your front page.
Set colours and corners. Use the theme's colour and shape settings to match your brand.
Decide on AJAX transitions. Keep an animation style or turn AJAX off for a classic site, then test every page.

Common problems and fixes

Pages flash, scripts fail or content loads wrong after clicking links

Why it happens: AJAX page transitions can clash with plugins that add scripts to each page.
How to fix it: Turn AJAX animations off in the theme settings; the theme works as a classic site without them.

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

Why it happens: The full download package was uploaded instead of the theme zip inside it.
How to fix it: Unzip the package and upload the zip that contains style.css at its top level.

“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading

Why it happens: The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it: Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/themes with your host's file manager or SFTP.

Demo import stops part-way or times out

Why it happens: The server hits its execution-time or memory limit during the import.
How to fix it: Raise max_execution_time and memory_limit with your host, then re-run the importer; importing content, widgets and settings separately also helps.

Pages look broken right after activating

Why it happens: The theme's required plugins (page builder, theme core plugin) aren't installed yet.
How to fix it: Install and activate everything in the theme's required-plugins notice, then reload.
