About CartFlows Free Version 1.8.0

CartFlows is a WordPress plugin that turns a WooCommerce checkout into a funnel. You build a flow of steps, such as a landing page, a checkout page and a thank-you page, instead of using WooCommerce's default cart and checkout pages.

This is the base CartFlows plugin, version 1.8.0 on file, dated December 2021. Order bumps, one-click upsells and A/B testing belong to CartFlows Pro, a separate product. The file is a few years old, so test it with your current WordPress, PHP and WooCommerce on a staging site before using it on a live shop.

Requirements

  • WordPress
  • WooCommerce

Key features

Funnel builder
Create flows of landing, checkout and thank-you steps.
Custom checkout pages
Replace the default WooCommerce checkout with a designed one.
Page builder support
Works with common builders such as Elementor and Beaver Builder.
Pre-built templates
Starts from ready flow templates you can edit.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

  • WooCommerce stores that want a more focused checkout
  • Marketers who sell a single product or offer through a funnel

Look elsewhere if

  • Stores not using WooCommerce
  • Stores that need order bumps or upsells without adding CartFlows Pro

How to install CartFlows Free Version 1.8.0

  1. 1

    Download the file

Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.

  2. 2

    Upload it to WordPress

In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.

  3. 3

    Install and activate

Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.

Notes for this product

  • Pro features such as order bumps and one-click upsells require the separate CartFlows Pro plugin, which is a different listing.

Setup: using CartFlows Free Version 1.8.0

  3. Edit the steps. Open the checkout step and choose the product that it sells.
  4. Design with your builder. Edit the landing and thank-you pages in your page builder.
  5. Place a test order. Run the whole flow with a test order.

Common problems and fixes

Flow pages return 404 errors
Why it happens
WordPress permalinks need refreshing after the plugin adds its page type.
How to fix it
Open Settings, Permalinks and click Save Changes.
The checkout step shows an empty cart
Why it happens
No product is selected for that checkout step.
How to fix it
Open the step's settings and select a product.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
Why it happens
The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it
Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Why it happens
The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it
Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Why it happens
Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it
Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
Why it happens
The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it
Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.
