About WPForms AWeber Addon 2.0.1

WPForms AWeber Addon is an add-on for the WPForms form plugin. It connects a form to your AWeber account, so people who submit the form can be added to an AWeber email list.

It does nothing on its own. WPForms must be installed and active, and you need an AWeber account. The title and file disagree on version: the store name carries an older number, while the file on record is version 2.0.1, from October 2019. Test it with your current WPForms and WordPress on a staging site before connecting it to a live list.

Requirements

  • WPForms
  • An AWeber account

Key features

AWeber connection
Links a WPForms form to an AWeber account.
Email list sign-ups
Form submissions can add people to an AWeber list.
Works inside WPForms
Set up from the form builder, the same way as other WPForms add-ons.
Add-on only
It extends WPForms and is not a standalone form or email plugin.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

  • Sites that already use WPForms and send email through AWeber
  • Newsletter sign-up, contact and lead forms that should feed an AWeber list

Look elsewhere if

  • Sites that use a different email service, such as Mailchimp
  • Sites without WPForms, since the add-on has nothing to extend

How to install WPForms AWeber Addon 2.0.1

  1. 1

    Download the file

Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.

  2. 2

    Upload it to WordPress

In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.

  3. 3

    Install and activate

Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.

Notes for this product

  • Install and activate WPForms first, then this add-on. The add-on is not a separate form builder.

Setup: using WPForms AWeber Addon 2.0.1

  1. Install WPForms and the add-on. Activate WPForms, then upload and activate the AWeber add-on.
  2. Connect your AWeber account. Open the WPForms settings integrations area and authorise AWeber, following the on-screen steps.
  3. Add the AWeber connection to a form. In the form builder, open Marketing, choose AWeber, and pick the account, list and field mapping.
  4. Submit a test entry. Fill in the form with a test email address and check that it arrives in the AWeber list.

Common problems and fixes

Submissions never reach AWeber
Why it happens
The AWeber connection was not authorised, or the form's email field is not mapped to the list.
How to fix it
Reconnect the account in the WPForms integrations settings and re-check the field mapping in the form's Marketing tab.
The AWeber option is missing from the form builder
Why it happens
WPForms is not active, or the add-on is not compatible with the installed WPForms.
How to fix it
Activate WPForms, then update or test the add-on against your WPForms on staging.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
Why it happens
The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it
Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Why it happens
The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it
Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Why it happens
Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it
Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
Why it happens
The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it
Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need WPForms?

Yes. It is an add-on for WPForms and does nothing without it.

Do I need an AWeber account?

Yes. The add-on only sends form data to AWeber; it does not replace the email service.

Which version is this?

The store name carries an older number, but the file on record is version 2.0.1 from October 2019.

Will it work with current WPForms?

The file is from 2019. Test it on a staging site with your current WPForms before you use it on live forms.
