About WCFM – WooCommerce Frontend Manager Ultimate 6.5.5

WCFM stands for WooCommerce Frontend Manager. It gives store staff, and with a marketplace setup the vendors, a dashboard on the site's front end to manage products, orders and reports without opening the WordPress admin area.

The Ultimate package adds extra modules on top of the core WCFM plugin. The listing doesn't name them, so open the package documentation to see which are included. Multivendor marketplace features come from WCFM's separate Marketplace plugin, so check whether you need that as well.

The file on record is version 6.5.5, released in June 2020. Test it with your current WordPress, PHP and WooCommerce versions on a staging site before using it on a live store.

Requirements

  • WooCommerce
  • The core WCFM WooCommerce Frontend Manager plugin

Key features

Front-end dashboard
Manage products, orders and reports from a page on your site instead of wp-admin.
Built for WooCommerce
Works on top of WooCommerce products and orders.
Extra modules
The Ultimate package adds modules beyond the core WCFM plugin; the listing doesn't name them.
Access control for staff
Staff and vendors can be given limited access to the dashboard.
Suited to marketplaces
Often used with WCFM Marketplace for multivendor stores.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

  • Store owners who want staff to manage the shop without WordPress admin access
  • Marketplace builders who want vendors to use a front-end dashboard

Look elsewhere if

  • Single-owner shops that are happy in the normal WooCommerce admin

How to install WCFM – WooCommerce Frontend Manager Ultimate 6.5.5

  1. 1

    Download the file

Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.

  2. 2

    Upload it to WordPress

In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.

  3. 3

    Install and activate

Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.

Notes for this product

  • Ultimate extends the core WCFM plugin, so install the core plugin first if it isn't in your package. Marketplace features need WCFM Marketplace or another multivendor plugin.

Setup: using WCFM – WooCommerce Frontend Manager Ultimate 6.5.5

  1. Install WooCommerce and core WCFM. Activate WooCommerce, then the core WCFM plugin, then Ultimate.
  2. Run the setup wizard. Follow the setup screen to create the dashboard pages and pick basic options.
  3. Open the front-end dashboard. Visit the dashboard page it creates and log in as an admin or shop manager.
  4. Set capabilities. Decide which dashboard sections each user role can see.
  5. Test with a non-admin account. Add a test product and process a test order from that account.

Common problems and fixes

The dashboard page shows a 404 or a blank page
Why it happens
Permalinks haven't refreshed, or the dashboard page isn't assigned in the WCFM settings.
How to fix it
Re-save Settings, Permalinks, then check the dashboard page in the WCFM settings.
Staff can't see some dashboard menus
Why it happens
The user's role doesn't have that capability enabled.
How to fix it
Adjust the role's capabilities in the WCFM capability settings and test again.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
Why it happens
The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it
Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Why it happens
The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it
Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Why it happens
Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it
Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
Why it happens
The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it
Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.
