About StudioPress Outreach Pro Genesis WordPress Theme 3.1.2

Outreach Pro is a StudioPress child theme, which means it adds a design on top of the Genesis Framework rather than running on its own. The listing files it under Blog News Magazine and gives no description of its layouts.

The file on record is version 3.1.2 from November 2017. That is old for a theme, so test it with your current WordPress and PHP versions on a staging site. Look in the package for the theme's own documentation to find its widget areas and homepage setup, as the listing doesn't describe them.

Requirements

Genesis Framework (parent theme)
WordPress

Key features

Genesis child theme: Uses the Genesis Framework as its parent, the usual StudioPress arrangement.
Blog and magazine category: The listing files it under Blog News Magazine, so it is meant for content-led sites.
Customiser-based settings: Genesis child themes are normally configured through the WordPress Customizer and Genesis settings; check the package documentation for this one.
Framework-based code: Built on the Genesis hooks and structure that many developers know well.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

Sites already running the Genesis Framework
Developers who like Genesis child themes and want to customise through hooks
Blogs that value a simple structure over a bundled page builder

Look elsewhere if

Anyone who wants a one-click demo import or a drag-and-drop builder, which the listing doesn't mention
Sites that can't install the Genesis parent theme

How to install StudioPress Outreach Pro Genesis WordPress Theme 3.1.2

1
Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
2
Find the installable theme zip
Theme packages often bundle the theme, a child theme, plugins and docs. The installable theme is the zip that has style.css at its top level.
3
Upload it to WordPress
Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme, choose the theme zip, then Install Now and Activate.
4
Install the recommended plugins
Most premium themes show a notice listing their required plugins. Install those before importing any demo content.

Notes for this product

Install and keep the Genesis Framework in your themes folder first, then activate Outreach Pro as the active theme. The child theme does not work without its parent.

Getting started: using StudioPress Outreach Pro Genesis WordPress Theme 3.1.2

Install the Genesis Framework. Upload the Genesis parent theme under Appearance > Themes, but do not activate it.
Install and activate Outreach Pro. Upload the child theme zip and activate it.
Check the Customizer and Genesis settings. Set the site identity, menus and layout options the theme offers.
Fill the widget areas. Open Appearance > Widgets and add content to the areas the theme documentation lists.

Common problems and fixes

WordPress says the parent theme is missing, or the theme is broken

Why it happens: The Genesis Framework is not installed, or its folder has a different name than the child theme expects.
How to fix it: Install the Genesis parent theme, keep its folder name as genesis, then activate the child theme again.

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

Why it happens: The full download package was uploaded instead of the theme zip inside it.
How to fix it: Unzip the package and upload the zip that contains style.css at its top level.

“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading

Why it happens: The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it: Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/themes with your host's file manager or SFTP.

Demo import stops part-way or times out

Why it happens: The server hits its execution-time or memory limit during the import.
How to fix it: Raise max_execution_time and memory_limit with your host, then re-run the importer; importing content, widgets and settings separately also helps.

Pages look broken right after activating

Why it happens: The theme's required plugins (page builder, theme core plugin) aren't installed yet.
How to fix it: Install and activate everything in the theme's required-plugins notice, then reload.
