About Posts Table Pro 2.4.1

Posts Table Pro is a WordPress plugin that shows your posts, pages or custom post types in a table instead of a plain list. Visitors can sort columns and search the table, which makes it useful for libraries of documents, articles, downloads or directories. The store files it under eCommerce and WooCommerce plugins.

The file on record is version 2.4.1 from January 2022, although the slug carries a different number. The listing doesn't describe the options in detail, so read the documentation in the package for the shortcode and column settings. Test it on a staging site with your current WordPress and PHP before using it on a live site.

Key features

Posts in a table
Displays posts, pages or custom post types as table rows rather than a list.
Search and sorting
Visitors can search the table and sort by column to find content quickly.
Choice of columns
You choose which fields appear, such as title, date, author or categories.
Shortcode placement
You place the table on any page with a shortcode.
Works with custom content
Can list custom post types, not only standard posts.

Is it right for you?

A good fit for

  • Sites with many posts, documents or resources that visitors need to scan quickly
  • Directories and archives where a table reads better than a blog grid

Look elsewhere if

  • Listing WooCommerce products with cart buttons, which is a separate product-table plugin job
  • Small sites with only a handful of posts

How to install Posts Table Pro 2.4.1

  1. 1

    Download the file

Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.

  2. 2

    Upload it to WordPress

In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.

  3. 3

    Install and activate

Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.

Setup: using Posts Table Pro 2.4.1

  1. Activate the plugin. After activation, look for its settings page in the WordPress admin menu.
  2. Create a page for the table. Add a new page where the table will appear.
  3. Insert the shortcode. Use the shortcode from the plugin documentation and choose the post type and columns.
  4. Check search and sorting on the front end. Open the page, try the search box and column headers, and adjust the columns.

Common problems and fixes

The table shows the shortcode as plain text
Why it happens
The shortcode was pasted into a code or preformatted block instead of a shortcode block.
How to fix it
Move it to a Shortcode block or a paragraph block.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
Why it happens
The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
How to fix it
Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Why it happens
The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
How to fix it
Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Why it happens
Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
How to fix it
Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
Why it happens
The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
How to fix it
Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.

Frequently asked questions

Is this for WooCommerce products?

No. It lists posts, pages and custom post types. It is filed in WooCommerce categories, but the listing doesn't describe product tables.

How do I add a table to a page?

Use the plugin's shortcode. The documentation in the package lists the options.

Will it work with current WordPress?

The file on record dates from January 2022. Test it on a staging copy first.
