About Ninja Forms Conditional Logic 3.1
Ninja Forms Conditional Logic is an add-on for the Ninja Forms form plugin. It lets a form react to answers: show or hide a field, or change what happens after submission, depending on what the visitor chose. It is filed under WordPress plugins and made by The WP Ninjas.
It does nothing alone. The parent Ninja Forms plugin must be installed first. The file on record is version 3.1 from June 2018, so test it on a staging site with your current Ninja Forms and WordPress versions before using it on live forms.
Requirements
- Ninja Forms (the free core plugin)
Key features
- Show and hide fields
- Make a field appear only when an earlier answer calls for it.
- Rules on form answers
- Conditions depend on the values visitors enter or select.
- Add-on for Ninja Forms 3
- Works inside the Ninja Forms builder rather than as a separate form tool.
- Shorter forms
- Visitors only see the questions that apply to them.
Is it right for you?
A good fit for
- Contact, quote or booking forms that ask different follow-up questions
- Sites already using Ninja Forms that want to cut form length
Look elsewhere if
- Sites using another form plugin
- Anyone who needs a simple one-page form with no branching
How to install Ninja Forms Conditional Logic 3.1
- 1
Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
- 2
Upload it to WordPress
In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.
- 3
Install and activate
Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.
Notes for this product
- Install and activate Ninja Forms first, then this add-on. If they are out of step on versions, the builder may not show the conditional options.
Setup: using Ninja Forms Conditional Logic 3.1
- Install Ninja Forms. Make sure the core plugin is installed and active.
- Install and activate the add-on. Upload the add-on on the Plugins screen.
- Open a form in the builder. Edit a form and open a field's settings to find the conditional logic section.
- Add a rule and test. Set the condition, save, then submit the form on the front end to confirm the field appears or hides.
Common problems and fixes
No conditional logic option appears in the builder
- Why it happens
- The add-on is inactive, or it is too old for the installed Ninja Forms version.
- How to fix it
- Confirm it is active, then test it against the Ninja Forms version on your site on staging.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
- Why it happens
- The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
- How to fix it
- Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
- Why it happens
- The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
- How to fix it
- Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
- Why it happens
- Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
- How to fix it
- Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
- Why it happens
- The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
- How to fix it
- Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need Ninja Forms?
Yes. It is an add-on and does nothing without the core plugin.
Can it change what happens after submission?
The listing doesn't state that. Check the documentation in the package.
Will it work with the current Ninja Forms?
The file dates from June 2018, so test it on a staging copy first.
