About Responsive Menu Pro WordPress Plugin 4.3.2
Responsive Menu Pro is a plugin that gives a WordPress site a mobile menu. It takes the menu your site already has and shows it as a tidy button-and-panel menu on small screens, so visitors on phones get something easier to tap than a squeezed desktop navigation.
You decide the screen width at which the switch happens, choose how the panel appears, whether it slides in or pushes the page aside, and style the button and panel to match your theme. Sub-menus can be opened and closed with a tap. The Pro version adds more options than the free plugin.
It works best on themes whose menu is easy to target. If the original menu stays visible on phones as well, the fix is a setting that hides it by CSS selector, and that is the first thing to check in any setup.
Key features
- Mobile menu button
- Adds a button that opens the menu on small screens.
- Adjustable breakpoint
- Choose the screen width at which the mobile menu replaces the normal one.
- Slide and push animations
- Pick how the menu panel appears when the button is tapped.
- Uses your existing menu
- Reads a menu you've already built in WordPress, so you don't maintain two.
- Sub-menu toggles
- Open and close sub-menus with a tap on touch screens.
- Style controls
- Set colours, sizes and fonts for the button and panel to match your theme.
Is it right for you?
A good fit for
- Sites whose theme has a weak or cramped mobile menu
- Owners who want a mobile menu without changing their theme
- Agencies tidying up navigation on client sites
Look elsewhere if
- Sites that need large desktop mega menus with images and widgets, which a mega menu plugin handles
- Themes that already include a good mobile menu
How to install Responsive Menu Pro WordPress Plugin 4.3.2
- 1
Download the file
Open My Account → Downloads and download the product. If the archive contains several zips (documentation, child theme, licensing files), you need the one named after the product.
- 2
Upload it to WordPress
In your dashboard go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.
- 3
Install and activate
Click Install Now, then Activate. If an older or free copy is already installed, WordPress offers to replace it with the uploaded version.
Notes for this product
- If the free Responsive Menu plugin is installed, deactivate it before activating Pro so the two copies don't both add a mobile menu.
Setup: using Responsive Menu Pro WordPress Plugin 4.3.2
- Open the plugin settings. After activating, open Responsive Menu in your dashboard menu.
- Choose the menu to show. Select the WordPress menu that should appear in the mobile panel.
- Set the breakpoint. Enter the screen width below which the mobile menu should take over.
- Hide the original menu. Add the CSS selector of your theme's own menu so it doesn't show twice on small screens.
- Choose animation and styling. Pick slide or push, then set the colours, button position and fonts.
- Test on real phones. Check the button, the open and close behaviour and the sub-menus on an actual phone.
Common problems and fixes
Both the theme's menu and the mobile menu appear on phones
- Why it happens
- The plugin doesn't know which element is your theme's original menu, so it can't hide it.
- How to fix it
- Find your theme's menu container using your browser's inspector, and enter its CSS selector in the plugin's setting for the menu to hide.
The menu button is missing or hidden behind the header
- Why it happens
- A sticky header or another element sits above the button.
- How to fix it
- Raise the plugin's button or panel layer in its settings, or lower the header's z-index with custom CSS.
Changes in the settings don't show on the site
- Why it happens
- A page cache or CDN is serving the old design.
- How to fix it
- Clear your page cache and CDN after saving, then reload on a phone.
“The link you followed has expired.” when uploading
- Why it happens
- The zip is larger than your server's PHP upload limit (upload_max_filesize / post_max_size).
- How to fix it
- Raise the upload limit in your hosting control panel, or unzip the file and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins with your host's file manager or SFTP.
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
- Why it happens
- The uploaded zip is a bundle (or a theme), not the plugin itself.
- How to fix it
- Unzip the download once and upload the inner zip named after the plugin.
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
- Why it happens
- Usually a PHP version older than the plugin needs, or a second copy of the same plugin (for example the free version) still active.
- How to fix it
- Check your PHP version under Tools → Site Health → Info, deactivate any other copy of the plugin, and enable WP_DEBUG_LOG to see the exact error.
Licence or “updates unavailable” notices
- Why it happens
- The developer's licence key isn't included. Features that call the developer's servers (template libraries, cloud APIs, automatic updates) need it.
- How to fix it
- Everything that runs locally works without it. For a newer file, use Request an update from your account.

Frequently asked questions
Does it replace my theme's menu on desktop?
No. It shows its menu on small screens, below the breakpoint you set. Desktop navigation stays your theme's.
Can I use a different menu on mobile?
You choose which WordPress menu the panel uses, so it can be a different menu from your desktop one.
Will it work with any theme?
It works with most themes. You may need to enter the CSS selector of the theme's own menu so it can be hidden on phones.
Does it slow the site down?
It adds one script and stylesheet and a small amount of markup, so the effect is small on most sites.
